TRUE STORIES

Honouring God in the marketplace
By Terence Atkinson

My company was handling a RM12 million project. One day, the contractor’s agent approached me privately to tell me that RM150,000 had been “set aside” for me.

I told her this was not necessary, and that I do not do such things. I emphasized that my superiors trusted me, and that I had a good reputation, which I would not allow such actions to ruin. Most of all, I did not want to disappoint God.

Could I use the money? Absolutely! For one thing, I had my eye on a Tablet PC …

But, could I accept the bribe? Absolutely not!

Then came another deal - the supply of computers worth RM250,000. The deal had fallen through and the suppliers asked me to speak to their principals for them. I did, and the deal was saved! The suppliers were so pleased they told me they wanted to give me a PC.

Again, I said no.

This time, however, the suppliers stressed they were not paying me to help them, but were thanking me for creating an income opportunity. Still, I declined. When I informed my Director of this, she told me to go ahead and accept the gift since I deserved it.

I am now a happy owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1!

Truly, as God’s word says: “For those who honour Me, I will honour” (1 Samuel 2:30).

All glory to God!

Lives Saved and Revived!
By Yen Shan

One of my friends, who started a workplace prayer group with me about a year ago, was having some doubts with God lately. When I invited a group of friends to Revo Singapore recently, she was the only one who agreed to come.

Although blessed by the afternoon Academy session, she initially wanted to leave earlier but I managed to encourage her to stay on. That night, at Revo PARTY, I witnessed her revival during praise and worship and the Word. After that, she shared her desire to start the prayer group earlier with worship. Despite the sacrifices she had to make, the Holy Spirit had revived her to push forward!

Not only that, another friend of mine, a pre-believer, also miraculously showed up at Revo Singapore! She is a highly ambitious and self-sufficient person, and hardly attended church or Homes since I first knew her.

At Revo Singapore, she was thoroughly ministered by Rev. Kenneth’s message! In fact, before the salvation call, she was passionately responding and verbally agreeing to his message. That night, my friend decided to follow Jesus!

Later on, she revealed that she nearly couldn’t make it due to a series of events – had food poisoning a few days earlier, getting lost on her way there, losing her phone’s signal and regaining it just when she almost gave up.

No one can stop what God has already planned and promised. We just need to remain faithful and obedient to invite others, and see them being transformed by His Holy Spirit!
