Christmas Production 2009: Esther Acts Church celebrated Christmas 2009 with the original production “Esther” – a compelling story about an orphan girl who, despite company policies, office politics and endless protocols, was promoted to a place of influence, to a position with a purpose bigger than she had ever imagined. She swore an oath of duty and honour to the company, but the day came when she had to choose between what was right and what was safe. Starring in-house talents, Victoria Ong, Jack Ling, David Yeow and Pr Andy Yeoh, the production ran twice on 20th December and finally on 25th December. For all three shows, the celebrations began with the high-spirited Actstream team singing praise songs and Christmas carols. Even at the beginning, there was high energy in the place as visitors were excited, anticipating the performance. Many turned up early to fill up the front seats. In no time, all the seats were filled and church partners were seen standing at the back of the church (many had given up their seats to ensure that visitors had an awesome Acts-perience!). The shows on 20th December saw Acts Church’s Senior Minister, Reverend Kenneth Chin sharing a short message with the audience after the grand finale. He reminded us that we all have an ‘Esther’ inside of us, and that our choices will determine if we shine as stars. And that there is hope in life, no matter how tough or challenging situations may be - that hope is found in Jesus Christ. And whilst we walk this journey of life, we will be accompanied by both encouragers and discouragers, individuals who will influence and create impact in our lives. How will we respond to these individuals and the intentions they bring with them? In times of challenges and trials, what will we do? When we are called for a certain cause, how will we respond? It was indeed a production that left a mark in the hearts of its audience. Many were impressed with the talented cast while others were influenced by the message - so much so that many were touched and experienced God for the first time in their lives! In total, for all three shows, more than 2,200 people came and there were 111 recorded salvations and 64 rededications in response to the salvation call! Christmas 2009 was truly an eventful season and we believe Acts Church was called for such a time as this. Praise God!
