On 2nd February 2010, Acts Church was flooded with more than 200 young working adults, decked with vivid-coloured ribbons and bow ties, in line with the dress code for “2015 Valentine: The Gift of Love”. After enjoying the delicious refreshment, emcees Joel Loi and Janet Han welcomed the audience and led them into a creative ice-breaker game called “Bingo”, which got people off their seats to make new friends.
Then, Team ABC (Air Batu Campur) performed an outstanding song presentation entitled “Remembering Love”. The choir of eight sang a wonderful medley of catchy love songs from the past and present, getting the crowd to groove with them. Right after that, a romantic mime/skit entitled “You call it madness, I call it love” by the Subang-KLCC-Sunway PGs sent the audience into a mix of roaring laughter and cheers. The team had creatively developed the story entirely through sketches and priceless expressions!
Watching the ending of the skit left many with a warm and fuzzy feeling, which was in line with Pr Kenneth and Pr Sandra’s message on love. Presenting love in 1 Corinthian 13: 4- 8, Pr Sandra pointed out that while love starts with the power of attraction, it does not end there because there are decisions to be made and all of us have the power to make a choice. Every choice you make can either build you or destroy you, and there are consequences that you have to deal from the choice you made. Pr Kenneth concluded the message with 3 simple Ms:
(1) the right Meaning of love
(2) Don’t marry on Manners because anyone can be nice
(3) Mind first, then heart, then intimacy.
Finally, Alex Lim and his son Isaac won the “Grooviest Award” while Euodia Ooi won the “Loveliest Award” for their creative use of bow ties and ribbons as part of their dressing. They won cash vouchers sponsored by Papa John’s Pizza.
“2015 Valentine: The Gift of Love” was fun, refreshing, impactful, and most of all real. All in all, everyone left with the warm and fuzzy feeling still intact, knowing that the greatest gift of all is the love of God. Happy Valentine’s, everyone!
Some feedback from those who attended:

- Phaik Wah who attended 2015 service for the first time.
“I find the message real. And after a long day at work, the performance was enlightening.”
- Marc Chow of Subang who also attended 2015 for the first time.
